Interesting Tshwane Derby prediction...

Former midfielder Brent Carelse says he expects SuperSport United to put up a strong fight in Wednesday's Tshwane Derby encounter against rivals Mamelodi Sundowns.

SuperSport will host defending champions Mamelodi Sundowns in a Betway Premiership tie at Lucas Moripe Stadium.

Carelse, who has represented both clubs, believes Gavin Hunt's men have shown improvement since the arrival of their January signings.

"It's going to be an exciting match," declares Carelse.

"Obviously, SuperSport United is struggling a bit, but you never know. They might surprise us.

"It's another thrilling match to look forward to. I don't agree that the Tshwane Derby is too one-sided. With derbies, it always comes down to who wants it more, regardless of the teams' standings. The rivalry on the field is what truly matters,"

That side, the 43-year-old believes Sundowns have a stronger squad than their opponents, whom they have for the large part dominated in this fixture.

"I'm not particularly impressed by SuperSport. They have talented players, but they need to perform better.

"I played for both clubs and enjoyed those derbies, so I expect a lot of goals tonight. I predict Sundowns will win 3-2.

"SuperSport United will surely fight to the end. They will die fighting."
