My Dream Team: Clayton Daniels

In this edition of My Dream Team, former Mamelodi Sundowns and Maritzburg United defender Clayton Daniels selects Surprise Moriri for his first touch, Brett Evans for his free kicks ... and more.

The former Bafana Bafana defender, who also played for SuperSport United, picks the 11 best players he played alongside in his football career.

Formation: 4-1-4-1

Goalkeeper

GK: Ronwen Williams. I always knew his potential since day one, but what stands out the most for me now is his maturity and leadership, and you can see it in his game at the highest level.

Defenders

RB: Nazier Allie. What a gentleman of the game. Top professional, who respected the game, and in his prime, he had perfect timing when he went up and down the line. Perfect weight of the pass and cross.

CB: Alje Schut at Sundowns. What a player! I learnt a lot from him. the way he read the game was amazing.

CB: Morgan Gould. My warrior! My fighter! With him at SuperSport, I could go to war any time of the day. He got my back, always.

LB: Brett Evans. That man can score a free kick. He struggled with pace, but he made up for it in his attacking play.

Midfielders

RW: Elias Pelembe. I love his energy. One-against-one, very good and hardly loses the ball. A top player.

CDM: Esrom Nyandoro, the 'Yellow Man'. Wore his heart on his sleeve and is also a gentleman of the game. Knows how to control the tempo of the game, when to play high intensity and when just to control the game.

AM: Surprise Moriri. Unbelievable first touch, vision, could control any game, and had a killer pass that split any defence.

LW: Franklin Cale. My brother from another mother. Both left and right foot, deadly. Powerful, speed, can win any game and can score from long range.

Strikers

ST: Thulani Serero. Creme de la creme. Speed, skillful, understands the game very well. Just give him the ball and he will do the rest. Any coach can go sleep if he has the ball.
