In this edition of My Dream Team, former South Africa under-20 international Lebo Ramolesa lists the best players he played alongside during his football career.
The 36-year-old midfielder has played for clubs such as Bloemfontein Celtic, Platinum Stars, and Highlands Park, among others.
Goalkeeper: Postnet Omony
"Although he is a foreigner, Omony gave me the warmest welcome when I joined Bloemfontein Celtic. He was like a parent to me. I was just 18 at the time, and he even gave up his accommodation so that I could have a place to stay. Yindod' emadodeni (He's a man amongst men) uOmony."
Defenders: Vuyo Mere, Jacob Machaka, Mbulelo Mabizela, Gary Goldstone
"Mere was like an older brother to me. He respected everyone, both young and experienced players. As my captain, he helped us win cups together at Platinum Stars and made the job of a right winger much easier.
"Machaka will be my left-back. I played with him at City Pillars/Mpumalanga Black Aces. He was like a father figure to me, I used to call him Baba.
"My first centre-back will be Mabizela. He is cool, calm, and collected, and very experienced. I will partner Mabizela with Goldstone. He can play with both feet and is a very smart player who fitted perfectly into our defence at Celtic."
Midfielders: John Maduka, Hlompho Kekana, Mark Mayambela, Lebo Ramolesa
"Maduka, the skipper, deserves special mention. I feel sorry for Ama2000 fans because they have never seen how a true defensive midfielder should play. I have seen players like Andile Jali, but they can't compare to Maduka.
"I will pair Maduka with my friend Hlompho Kekana. We played together at City Pillars before it became Mpumalanga Black Aces, after he was released by Black Leopards.
"My left wing will be Mayambela, who has the ability to easily change the complexion of the game. As a skilful player, he adds the necessary spark to the team.
"On the right, it's obviously me. Defenders couldn't rest when I was on the pitch. I was the reason Bradley Grobler became a top goalscorer and was able to secure a move overseas, as I supplied him with crosses."
Strikers: Moses Spandeel, Junior Khanye
"Spandeel is someone I truly admire. Defenders never had a moment's rest against him; he ran for the entire 90 minutes, and if you made a mistake, he would score.
"I choose Khanye for his creativity. I want him to play behind Spandeel. Khanye was brave and had the mentality of 'I'm from Kaizer Chiefs, so I'm scared of no man'."
