If the PSL monthly awards are to be the decisive metric, there is one coach leading the race to be crowned Coach of the Season.
With the season left with just over a month before the curtain is closed for the 2024/25 campaign, nominations for end of the season awards are imminent.
Even though not much is said on how certain categories nominations and winners are determined, the monthly awards should play a role in deciding the overall winners for the campaign.

In so far as the Betway Premiership Coach of the Season is concerned, the league title would play an important role while the other decisive factor is how a coach has improved his team considering the resources he has.
However, with the award judged only on league matches, so far a coach that has won the most Coach of the Month awards is Mamelodi Sundowns head coach Miguel Cardoso.
Even though Cardoso only joined Sundowns in December, he is already a leading candidate after he won the Coach of the Month of November and December 2024.
After arriving in December, he led the Brazilians to three successive wins, keeping them at the top of the table following the departure of Manqoba Mngqithi.
The Portuguese coach was also named Coach of the Month for February 2025, rewarded for amassing six wins out of seven matches, which came with 18 points out of 21 points.

So far, other coaches have only won the Monthly award once, as Orlando Pirates head coach Jose Riveiro won the Coach of the Month for September and October 2024.
Riveiro got the award after he led Pirates to six wins from their first six matches, as they made their intentions of chasing for the title clear.
Former Cape Town City interim coach Muhsin Ertugral won the Coach of the Month accolade for January 2025, after guiding City to three victories in four matches, including upsets over Kaizer Chiefs and Orlando Pirates.
The last winner for the monthly award is Magesi head coach Owen Da Gama, who won the accolade after masterminding four wins from five matches, to wrestle Dikwena away from the relegation zone.
The Coach of the Month award for April and May could be decisive, as another accolade for Cardoso could make him a strong favourite for the Coach of the Season award.
