The clash will take place on Wednesday, 30 July at the 5000-seater Stade Caroline Faye in Mbour, about 80 kilometres outside the capital Dakar.
Amajita are in West Africa to prepare for the all-important 2015 African Youth Championship qualifier against Cameroon in Yaounde on Saturday, 16 August.
“Things have been going very well on tour. The conditions and things like travelling and heat are quite heavy for us but everyone is committed to the cause because we know what we are here for, and what we have to do. We are trying our best to ensure this whole exercise becomes a success. We are just hoping we can get a good result in our third game against Senegal,” says Amajita captain Ayabulela Magqwaka.
“At this stage everyone has adapted accordingly and I believe everybody will be physically and mentally ready for Cameroon which is the bigger picture and defeating them is the goal that everyone wants to achieve. It was important to come here because now as players we know what’s in store for us. We would like to thank SAFA for granting us this opportunity to undertake this tour.”
The South Africans arrived in Senegal on Sunday, 27 July shortly after losing 1-0 to Mali the day before (Saturday, 26 July). They drew 1-1 with Burkina Faso.
“I am positive things will change in the remaining two games and we could get out of this tour with a victory. It is always important to win because that only shows you are progressing in your preparations, and once we start winning, we would like to maintain that winning mentality going to Cameroon. No doubt it will be difficult against Senegal but we are confident of a win,” adds the skipper.
Magqwaka has also expressed his excitement over the appointment of Shakes Mashaba as the head coach of Bafana Bafana. The captain worked with the newly appointed senior national team coach for almost all of his Under-20 national team career.
“Firstly, I am very happy for him as a coach and a person. Secondly, it is going to be painful for us to lose such a good coach as we had already built a strong bond with him because he is one of the best coaches I have ever worked with," says Magqwaka.
"He has been there for us, he knows how to work with us and we know how to work with him and I wish him all the luck and hope he achieves all his goals. I am also positive that whoever will come into his place will work as hard as he [Mashaba] did to take the Under-20 team forward."
