Broos: I knew Zwane was a good player

Bafana Bafana head coach Hugo Broos says Themba Zwane might be the missing link for the side after his impressive return on Saturday afternoon.

Zwane celebrated his return to the national team with a brace while other goals were scored by his club teammate Aubrey Modiba and debutant Mihlali Mayambela.

"Ja first of all, when you believe in your qualities that you can make things and I think the guys who were on the pitch today believed in it," Broos told SABC Sport.

"We had a good training session behind us and we asked them to play like they have the qualities and I think they did it today.

"There was a team on the pitch and it was not enough to have 1-0, we wanted more so I'm very happy," he said.

Broos showered praise on Zwane's performance on the day, but also called for caution due to the calibre of the opponent.

"Themba was very good today and I'm very happy. I said 'only fools don't change their minds'. I knew he was a good player but I just said we start something in September with young players," he explained.

"But I prefer first of all to give the chance to young players but and now we did not find it. Why not change? You see, he proved that maybe he's a missing link in our team.

"At the other side we have to be a little bit careful not to be too happy because this is not France, this is not Ghana, this is not Morocco. But again the performance of Themba was very good."
