Olympics: South Africa's starting XI vs Iraq

Injuries and sickness to Erick Mathoho and Lebogang Mothiba has resulted in a new-look side, with five changes from the side that narrowly lost 1-0 in their previous encounter against Denmark.

Itumeleng Khune retains his place in goal, with  Tercious Malepe coming in for the injured ‘Tower’ in defence.

Mothobi Mvala, Phumlani Ntshangase and Andile Fikizolo are three other additions to the side, with Menzi Masuku handed a starting berth as well.

Captain Keagen Dolly and Gift Motupa will no doubt be expected to fire in front of goal, with the team yet to find the back of the net so far.

South Africa, who sit bottom of Group A on one point, need to win by two clear goals to progress in the competition.

Kick-off is at 3am South African time.

South Africa XI vs Iraq: Khune; Mekoa; Mobara; Malepe; Coetzee; Mvala; Ntshangase; Keagan Dolly (c); Fikizolo; Masuku; Motupa

Subs: February; Moerane; Mngonyama; Sandows; Modiba; Kutumela; Morris
