Billiat gets revenge on Chiefs

Khama Billiat was on the score sheet as Yadah collected all three points at home with a 2-1 victory against Bulawayo Chiefs on Saturday, with the visitors having won the reverse fixture earlier in the season.

Yadah went into Saturday's encounter beaming with confidence having won two of their prior three matches in the Castle Lager Premiership.

On their path were Bulawayo Chiefs, who themselves had enough reason to be confident, having won the reverse fixture 3-1 in April.

It all seemed to be repeating the same script when Reason Sibanda opened the scoring for Chiefs in the 52nd minute.

However, Billiat returned fire with an equalizer just 12 minutes later.

Evans Rusike put Chiefs to the sword in added time to earn the side a precious three points that take Yadah up to ninth place on the log table, while their opponents slip down to 14th.

The match also means Billiat climbs up to the top of the scorers' chart with nine goals next to his name, making him one of the most in-form players in the league currently.

It also marks a change in fortunes for Yadah, who initially struggled to find their footing at the start of the season but are now just one of two teams in the league boasting three wins or more from their last five outings, alongside second-placed Simba Bhora.

The two in-form sides will lock horns on Saturday, where a victory could take Yadah as high as seventh, while Simba could go top of the standings.
