After not living up to expectations at Mamelodi Sundowns and Orlando Pirates, a former coach of Lesedi Kapinga has given his take on what went wrong.
Kapinga made his name in the PSL through Black Leopards and, after two years there, made a big move to Sundowns in July 2020.

Famous for his ability on the ball, the 29-year-old was tipped to play an important role at The Brazilians and although he had a promising start after making 19 appearances in all competitions in his first season, he became a fringe player in his second campaign, with his appearances coming off the bench.
He was limited to only 14 games in 2022/23.
Ahead of the following season, the club decided against exercising an option in the skillful midfielder's contract and he was recruited by Pirates as a free agent.
However, the diminutive attacker's career at the Soweto giants could not get off, with most of his time affected by injuries and, after making only 13 appearances, he was eventually released in September, with his contract terminated by mutual consent.
Former Marumo Gallants head coach Dylan Kerr, who got the best out of Kapinga at Leopards, says he warned him not join Sundowns.
"Kapinga was brilliant for me at Black Leopards, because give him the stage, give him the freedom to go and play," Kerr told KickOff.
"When he moved to Sundowns, I told Kapinga: 'Do not go to Sundowns!' It was the worst thing he could do, but he went, played a handful of games.
"He got sold to Pirates, played a handful of games, now he is being signed by Sekhukhune [United]. I hope he can rebuild his career.

"For me, five years is wasted on what could have been an amazing career. He should be in Bafana Bafana squad, as a regular. But if you're not playing, you're not gonna be picked by the national team," he added.
