Major clear-out looming? Khune coming? Sekhukhune face busy off-season

Sekhukhune United are closing on the signing of Chippa United goalkeeper Lloyd Kazapua ahead of major changes in the DStv Premiership side's squad.

Babina Noko are forging ahead with the signing of Kazapua from the Chilli Boys, as per SABC Sport.

However, this website has gathered that the move  for the Namibian international comes on the back of what is expected to be a major overhaul in the Sekhukhune camp.

Insiders have informed this publication that the club has earmarked Kazapua as a replacement for DStv Premiership Goalkeeper of the Season nominee Ali Sangaré, who is expected to leave before the start of the 2024/25 season.

Additionally, sources close to proceeding at the Limpopo outfit have revealed that a mass exodus is expected, with over 10 players' futures on the line, including those who are on loan.

Veteran defender Daniel Cardoso, and midfield duo Kamohelo Mokotjo and Sibusiso Vilakazi, are also among those believed to be facing the exit door.

"There is going to be a lot of changes, for sure," an insider told KickOff.

"There are arrivals being worked on already behind the scenes and there will be a lot of exits as well."

The club is also actively in the hunt for a new head coach with Lehlohonolo Seema expected to leave, following his suspension by the club's hierarchy. Gavin Hunt, Steve Komphela have reportedly been considered as possible candidates.

Meanwhile, the expected arrivals include Kaizer Chiefs defender Njabulo Ngcobo, who is out of contract with Amakhosi, and Pule Ekstein, who made 30 appearances in all competitions for Usuthu last season, among others.

Sekhukhune have also reportedly kept tabs on the situation of Itumeleng Khune, who is also out of contract at Chiefs the end of June.

The veteran goalkeeper, though, has insisted that he intends to stay at Naturena, making the signing of Kazapua all the more crucial.

Babina Noko finished fourth in the DStv Premiership and will be competing in the CAF Confederation Cup next season.
