BREAKING: Sekhukhune snap up Pirates-linked winger

In addition to the likes of Njabulo Ngcobo and Thabang Monare, Sekhukhune United have further strengthened their squad with the signing of winger Shaune Mogaila, KickOff can confirm.

Sekhukhune finished fourth in the DStv Premiership last season and that means a return to continental football in the form of the CAF Confederation Cup.

In a bid to bolster the squad following a mass exodus with the departures of Sibusiso Vilakazi, Kamohelo Mokotjo and head coach Lehlohonolo Seema, among others, the club has roped in some experienced names.

These include Ngcobo from Kaizer Chiefs, former Orlando Pirates' Monare from Orlando Pirates and Mamelodi Sundowns academy graduate Keletso Makgalwa from Upington City.

Information reaching the KickOff news desk is that the latest high-profile arrival at Babina Noko is Mogaila, who has been a free agent since leaving Royal AM in February, after opting against renewing his contract with the KZN outfit.

Multiple reports have previously linked the 29-year-old winger with AmaZulu FC and Bucs before his exit from Thwihli Thwahla, but it is understood that it is Sekhukhune who have landed the Ga-Mashashane-born winger's signature.

Mogaila was also part of the Bafana Bafana squad that earned bronze at the 2022 COSAFA Cup in Durban.

Meanwhile, Sekhukhune are also expected to conclude the sale of winger Elias Mokwana in the coming days, having already reached a verbal agreement with North African giants Espérance Sportive de Tunis.
