11 Kaizer Chiefs, Orlando Pirates stars waiting for Soweto Derby debuts

Orlando Pirates and Kaizer Chiefs will square off in the third Soweto Derby this season alone, and several players from each side have yet to get their first taste of the fixture.

A Chiefs-Pirates fixture is one most South African, and some foreign national, players dream of playing in at some point in their careers, and many have experienced the privilege already.

However, while some retain that wish from the outside, 11 players from within the two teams are still waiting to get their first minutes in front of 70,000-plus supporters.

VIEW: Soweto Derby: The final countdown

This weekend in particular is set to see 88,000 spectators descend on FNB Stadium, where The Buccaneers and Amakhosi will face off for the last time in the 2019/20 season.

This includes four foreign nationals and seven locally-born players, amongst whom are two new signings that arrived in the January transfer window.
