Lorch has stamped his authority at The Buccaneers since his return from a loan spell at Chippa United in January 2017 and is proving a key figure under Milutin Sredojevic.
The 25-year-old has featured in almost 90 percent of Pirates’ 33 fixtures so far this season while managing 10 goals in all competitions thus far.
He recently scored his third Soweto Derby goal in his last four appearances against rivals Kaizer Chiefs and was also instrumental in leading the team to the Telkom Knockout final in December, having scored four goals in four games.
Vilakazi, who was in attendance at the FNB Stadium over the weekend to witness the 1-1 stalemate between his former club and their nemesis, has since trumpeted the lanky winger’s contribution this season.
“That boy [Lorch] is brilliant. I can put my money on him,” Vilakazi told snl24.com/kickoff.
“People always say you are a good player or striker because you score goals, but sometimes you can be good not by scoring goals but creating opportunities for your teammates.
“Lorch can score and create – he is brilliant.”
