CONFIRMED | Stellies' Jabaar to join club abroad

Stellenbosch have parted ways with one of their midfielders, who is set to secure a move abroad for the 2023/2024 season.

Nigerian midfielder Ibraheem Jabaar's time in Stellenbosch has come to an end, with the player and club parting ways.

The 20-year-old is now set to join Israeli outfit Maccabi Petah Tikva ahead of the new campaign.

Club statement:

Stellenbosch Football Club has parted ways with Ibraheem Jabaar to pave the way for him to join Maccabi Petah Tikva ahead of the 2023/24 Israeli Premier League season.

The 20-year-old joined Stellenbosch in 2021 and spent the last two-and-a-half seasons in the Winelands, making a total of 70 appearances for the club across all competitions.

Last year, he became the youngest player in the club's history to reach the 50-match milestone and was also named the SFC Young Player of the Year in 2022 in recognition of his stellar performances.

The Nigeria youth international departs with the blessing of all at the club who wish him well as he embarks on the next chapter of his career abroad.
