Stellenbosch head coach Steve Barker has explained why he believes Mamelodi Sundowns-linked midfielder Jayden Adams would be worth over R400 0000 should the Brazilians persist in their interest of the 23-year-old.
Barker has warned PSL teams looking to poach the clubs' players that it would not be as easy as it was in the past, and made a particular refence to Adams, whom Sundowns have expressed an interest in.

Speaking at post-match press conference after Stellies' 1-0 to Sundowns on Saturday, Barker warned that the Brazilians would have to 'dig deep' to sign their star.
"The better you become as a football club; winning cups, coming second. Players going to Bafana, their value going [up]. So, if clubs are going to come look for our players I don't think it will be as easy as it was in the past," Barker said.
Sundowns are understood to have already enquired to Stellies' hierarchy about the signing of Adams, however, Barker insists he would advise against a move to a South African team.
"Number one, because from the economic and financial point of view, if you've got players sitting on the bench for Sundowns that were costing R40 million what reason is that Jayden Adams is not worth that, maybe more? I need an answer.
"If Sundowns do want him, then they have to dig deep, that's the one thing.
"The second thing is; Jayden's got ambitions to play in Europe, I think he knows he's at the age where going to Europe would be better in his interest, I would advise him to rather consider that than local.
"You don't want him going to Sundowns and ending up playing 13/14 league matches in a season,"
"So it's going to be more difficult for teams."
