In this edition of My Dream Team, renowned former SuperSport United and Bidvest Wits striker Calvin Kadi names the 11 best players he featured alongside his football career.
The former centre-forward also played for Jomo Cosmos, Portimonense in Portugal and for PAE Veria in Greece.
Kadi lifted the Premier Soccer League title with SuperSport and Nedbank Cup with Wits.
What is your formation of choice?
"4-3-3"
Goalkeeper
"Itumeleng Khune. It is difficult to decide between Moeneeb Josephs and Khune. However, I will go with Itu. He is one of the best ball distributors in the world. His abilities influenced younger goalkeepers to adopt his style. Very consistent and top-class goalkeeper. Went through all the national team ranks, and if I'm not mistaken, he's got over 80 Bafana Bafana caps. Great leader and unstoppable in his time."
Defenders
"Right-back is Happy Jele. Versatile and composed on the ball. Good in both offensive and defensive moments. Scored crucial goals for the Pirates and became a top leader over the years. Adjusted to the Centre-Back position later on in his career.
"Right-centre-back will be OJ Mabizela. Massive, a massive talent and is very comfortable on the ball. He would be a huge asset in the current Sundowns squad style of play. I'd say he is one of the best defenders SA has produced.
"Morgan Gould would be my left-centre-back. An aggressive defender with a lot of aerial abilities to assist the team both on offensive and defensive set plays. Not the quickest, but very disciplined with his defensive organisation. A great leader on and off the pitch.
"Left-back. Tshepo Masilela. A very intelligent defender who offers a lot of combination play options offensively, and the energy to track back and contribute to his defensive duties. Very disciplined player with positive energy and doesn't easily lose position. Top class defender."
Midfielders
"Tinashe Nengomasha is the defensive midfielder. Hard work is very tough and plays very simple after regaining possession. He dishes out clean tackles as he reads the game very well, and always scans before receiving the ball. One of the top consistent performers at Chiefs during his era. Great leader on and off the field, that's why they called him 'Father'.
"Left-attacking-midfielder is Themba Zwane. One of the most underrated players in the PSL. Always offers top-level creativity.
"Right-attacking-midfielder, Gift Leremi. May his soul rest in peace. He had everything in his game.
"Left-winger is Daine Klate. The man for big occasions. Consistent player who consistently performs throughout the seasons.
"Right-winger, Sifiso Myeni. Very skilful with scoring abilities, offers creativity and assists defensively by creating. Never complains, always does his job with a positive attitude."
Striker
"Benni McCarthy, one of the best finishers I played with, very good first touch, strong and a sniper of note."
Substitutes
