Lawyer: Jali and co still to face the music at Swallows

Despite not being on the list of players dismissed by Moroka Swallows for misconduct, the likes of Andile Jali, Dumsani Zuma, and Gabadinho Mhango are not yet off the hook.

Swallows took the local football fraternity by surprise on Friday after taking 22 players through a disciplinary process.

The Dube Birds came under scrutiny in December for boycotting training and subsequently failing to honour the club' scheduled DStv Premiership League matches against Mamelodi Sundowns and Golden Arrows in December last year.

The PSL DC fined fined Swallows for an amount of R1 million, of which R600 000 was suspended, on condition that the club is not found guilty of the same offense during the suspension period. Both missed fixtures were ruled as walk-overs.

Vusi Sibiya, Keegan Allan, Gregory Damons, Tshegofatso Mabasa, Keenan Phillips, and Thabang Maponya are some of the players still waiting for the outcome of the DC hearing, according to Moroka Swallows' lawyer Leruma Thobejane.

"There were three sets of legal representatives and the disciplinary proceedings were divided into three, meaning the first batch that had their result or outcome of their DC coming out was the one represented by the (South African Football Players) Union," Thobejane tells Kick Off.

"There are two other batches represented by private legal practitioners. We are waiting for the outcome of those proceedings. I think people were misled by reading or seeing the list of 22 players. All the players were charged and all the players were put through the process of disciplinary hearing. We are waiting for the outcome with the others that are involved", he added.

Moroka Swallows have yet to return to training since last played against Royal AM in the Premiership in Durban on 23 December.
