Mamelodi Sundowns captain Hlompho Kekana has given his club jersey to a young fan who asked for it a few months ago

Mamelodi Sundowns captain Hlompho Kekana has received some love from a young football fan in Egypt who is now a proud owner of his club jersey.

Before Bafana Bafana's Africa Cup of Nations last-16 clash against hosts Egypt on Saturday, Kekana posted a picture of two kids – one in an Al Ahly jersey and another in Sundowns kit.

Sundowns were in Egypt for the CAF Champions League quarterfinal clash against giants Al Ahly and even though they lost 1-0, Sundowns progressed after winning the first leg in Atteridgeville 5-0.

A young fan of Egyptian giants Al Ahly asked Kekana for his jersey and promised he would come back with it if he made the final AFCON squad. So when he heard that he is in the squad, Kekana made sure to pack a jersey to give the young supporter who was so happy to receive it.

"They are my friends and fans from Egypt. I know them from every time I come to Egypt. There's five boys and I know the fathers of two of the boys. I don't know the parents of the other three boys, but I know they are Al Ahly fans.

"So the one boy no longer supports Al Ahly, he supports me. That's why I gave him my jersey and he says he is a special captain. When we were here for the Champions League he asked me to give him a jersey when I come for AFCON and I said if I get chosen I'll bring him a jersey," Kekana tells snl24.com/kickoff.

"So on the day I got the news that I have been selected for AFCON, I made sure that I went to Chloorkop to get a jersey to give to him."

Kekana came on as a late substitute as Bafana beat Egypt 1-0 to progress to the quarterfinals, where they will meet Nigeria.
