OFFICIAL: Manchester United unveil vibrant third kit

Manchester United have now officially unveiled a vibrant, bright green third kit for the 2022/23 season.

The striking lime colourway is one that has been seen worn by goalkeeper David de Gea in the past, and the rest of the Red Devils' outfield players are now set to wear it for the first time this weekend, when they take on London outfit Brentford on Saturday.

The jersey's round collar features a zig-zag pattern, and much like the 2022/23 home and away shirts, the alternative kit also comes with a shielded crest.

Wantaway star Cristiano Ronaldo is, perhaps surprisingly, also featured among those showcasing the kit despite his efforts to depart the club.

"We're proud to officially unveil the new Manchester United third kit for the 2022/23 season, which debuts a unique, all-over design – never seen before – in a striking green colourway," a statement on the club's official website read.

"Truly an eye-catching jersey, its distinguished from our home and away shirts this season thanks to the vibrancy and striking geometric pattern that has been incorporated into the design.

"It boasts a crewneck collar, which has been designed with a statement graphic design, directly inspired by the Zeitgeist fashion culture of the 1990s."

Design director at adidas Inigo Turner added: "A convergence of cultural icons remixed and recoded, the 22/23 third kit takes its inspiration from the iconic Manchester United graphic identity, using geometric shapes and patterns.

"We've blended these with a new interpretation of a classic club colour for a fresh, eye-catching kit."

Here are eight stars who could soon join the Red Devils!
