As earlier reported by snl24.com/kickoff, Komphela has returned to the fore after penning a two-year deal, with an option of a further year, with Phunya Sele Sele, who recently parted ways with coach Veselin Jelusic.
The club have since confirmed the appointment on their official website, with chairman Max Tshabalala further explaining what led them to the former junior national team mentor.
“Our strategy was to get a reputable local coach with immense pedigree who can take us to greater heights, and in Steve we've found an appropriate candidate,” said Tshabalala.
“Last season was complicated and we failed to achieve our goals. However, we have now acquired the services of someone passionate, hungry for success and willing to bring back the excitement synonymous with Celtic supporters.
