Orlando Pirates confirm exits of Riyaad Norodien and Brighton Mhlongo

Norodien, who was on loan to relegated Platinum Stars since January, has completed a permanent move to The Citizens, the club confirmed on Friday.

The 23-year-old winger will now return to the Mother City after joining Pirates from Ajax Cape Town in July 2016, but his growth was stunted as he made just eight starts in 18 months before being shipped out to Dikwena.

Meanwhile, Mhlongo, who had joined Chippa United at the start of last season on what was announced by the Port Elizabeth-based club as a three-year deal, has since been sold by the Buccaneers to Bidvest Wits.

The 27-year-old shot-stopper spent six years at the Soweto giants, mostly deputising to the likes of Moeneeb Josephs and Senzo Meyiwa, before taking over after the latter's passing in 2014.

However, he fell out of favour following the club's humiliating 6-1 drubbing in 2016, which subsequently saw the exit of coach Muhsin Ertugral, and was then loaned out to Chippa in July 2017.

Mhlongo will now compete with Wits' Darren Keet and Kyle Peters for the number one jersey at the Milpark-based side.
