While this may be bad news for some clubs and coaches, it is a huge sense of pride for the players who are set to represent their country at Africa's biggest showpiece.
Among the EPL teams, Nottingham Forest have the most players going to AFCON with six stars, including Ivorian defensive duo Serge Aurier and Willy Boly.
Only three clubs – Burnley, Manchester City and Newcastle United – will not have any representatives at the tournament.
The reigning Premier League champions do not have an African first-team player on their books following the departure of Algeria winger Riyad Mahrez.
This is the same for the Magpies, while Burnley have retained Bafana Bafana star Lyle Foster during this period after talks between the club and the South African national team resulted in an agreement about the striker's omission from AFCON.
Foster spent a few months on the sidelines due to mental health problems before returning to action in late December, and Bafana boss Hugo Broos has insisted that the decision was totally out of his control despite his initial plan to select the 23-year-old.

He told the SABC: "So our doctor had contact with the doctors at Burnley. I got the medical report where it stated it was impossible and I repeat it was impossible for Foster to be at AFCON and this is medical.
"Don't ask me why but the risk and the dangers are still there that if it goes in a bad direction with Lyle he goes back to where he started three months ago.
"I was also surprised to see last weekend that he played again, but, this is a medical decision, it's not my decision."
