Abha Club chief makes Pitso admission: 'We notice...'

A supervisor of the Sunni football group at Abha Club has now made a big admission about coach Pitso Mosimane.

The South African coach was appointed by Abha in January 2024 on a short-term deal to help get the side out of the relegation zone in the Saudi Pro League.

In 12 league matches so far, the former Bafana Bafana boss has picked up 15 points after winning four matches, drawing three, and losing five.

Sultan Majrashi, the supervisor Sunni football group at Abha, has now lavished Mosimane with praise, noting the stability he has brought to the team.

"I believe that the lack of stability in the technical staff since the beginning of the season and the frequent changes are things that caused the first team's results to vary," he said, aaccording to Aawsat.

"But we notice stability now with coach Mosimane and an increase in the team's results, as he was able to almost achieve 16 points since his arrival, and we are very optimistic about achieving survival."

Mosimane will face his former side Al Ahli on Saturday, 18 May, which will be his first meeting against his previous employers. Abha will play Al-Khaleej on 23 May before their last game of the season away at Al-Hazm on 27 May.

His contract will expire at the end of June and it remains to be seen whether he can keep Abha up and potentially extend his stay.
