Al Ahly management have reportedly fined the players after their CAF Champions League elimination to Mamelodi Sundowns.
The reigning African champions bowed out of the competition on the away-goals rule following a 1-1 draw in the second leg at the Cairo International Stadium.

There have already been a couple casualties after the result, with head coach Marcel Koller and sporting director Mohamed Ramadan losing their jobs.
According to Kooora, the management issued a fine of 500 000 Egyptian pounds (R183 000) for each player who participated in the second leg on Friday night.

The report adds that the Ahly players would have received bonuses if they overcame Sundowns and advanced to a sixth successive final, which made it logical for the president Mahmoud El Khatib to fine them after the elimination.
Al Ahly will now turn their attention to the Egyptian Premier League, where they currently sit in second spot, three points behind league leaders Pyramids FC.
