Al Ahly 'decide' Percy Tau's fate

It has now been claimed that South African attacker Percy Tau's future at Al Ahly has already been decided.

The Red Devils are prepared to let the Bafana Bafana star depart if the right offer comes in, and are also set to part ways with Malian midfielder Aliou Dieng and French forward Anthony Modeste at the end of the season, according to Face Masr

It is believed the Egyptian giants are looking to let go of the trio in order to bring in new players to strengthen the squad.

It is further claimed that club boss Marcel Koller has emphasised the importance of making new signings to bolster their midfield and attacking areas.

According to journalist Mahmoud Shawky, Dieng is now seen as surplus to requirements, having made just five Egyptian Premier League appearances in what has been an injury-riddled season for the player.

Tau, who has scored seven goals in 28 games across all competitions this season, could also see himself leaving the 11-time CAF Champions League winners before seeing out his contract, which is believed to be set to expire next year.

"Dieng may leave the Red Castle this season, and South African Percy Tau will leave if there is a suitable financial offer during the next summer market," Shawky said.

Modeste, meanwhile, is said to be included in the list of departures after he joined the Club of the Century in September last year. To date, the attacker has made 25 appearances but registered just five goals.

Shawky also stated that the 36-year-old is considered to not be good enough for the side.

"Modeste will definitely be outside the walls of Al Ahly club during the upcoming summer transfer period, due to his weak technical level," he added.
