Al Ahly have imposed a hefty fine on one of their stars following a disciplinary issue in the side's recent CAF Champions League clash.
The Egyptians giants secured a spot in the quarter-final stage of the CAFCL with a 3-0 win over Sudanese outfit Al Hilal on the weekend.
While the team were relieved to avoid a surprise exit in the competition, having waited until the last group match to advance, their triumph was also marred by a disciplinary incident between a player and the manager.

The Red Devils have confirmed that winger Ahmed Abdel-Kader has been slapped with a "hefty fine" for refusing to shake the coach Marcel Koller's hand after he was substituted off the field against Al Hilal.

"Al Ahly football director Sayed Abdel-Hafiz decided to impose a hefty fine on Ahmed Abdel-Kader," Al Ahly's short statement read, according to KingFut.
When the head coach was asked about the incident in the press conference, the Swiss said: "Sometimes, the player thinks he deserves to stay on the pitch and should not be substituted. As a manager, I do my role in order to win games.
"I understand these situations and I know how to deal with them. I have no problem with the player at all."
The 23-year-old player later showed remorse for his action and posted a picture of him kissing the his manager's head with a caption that read: "The bad attitude was in front of everyone. And now I am apologizing in front of everyone. You are still number one for me whatever happens."
