The Football Association of Zambia has officially appointed former Chelsea boss Avram Grant as their new head coach.
The Israeli tactician arrived in the country on Wednesday ahead of his unveiling as the new man in charge on Thursday at the Taj Pamodzi Hotel in Lusaka, per ZamFoot.
He replaces recently departed Croatian coach Aljosa Asanovic on a reported two-year deal, with an option to extend for a further year.

Grant is said to have beaten local contenders Honor Janza and Wedson Nyirenda to the role, with the former having previously managed Chipolopolo between August 2014 and June 2015, while the latter was at the helm from September 2016 until May 2018.

The 67-year-old has been without a job since 2018 after he left his technical director position at Indian topflight outfit NorthEast United.
He now makes a return to African football for the second time after he had a stint with Ghana between December 2014 and February 2017, where he guided the Black Stars to their first Africa Cup of Nations final in five years back in 2015, albeit they lost to eventual winners and hosts Ivory Coast.
One of Grant's most notable achievements came in 2008, when he reached the UEFA Champions League final with Chelsea but lost out on penalties to Manchester United in that game.
