Speaking on Egyptian television on Tuesday night, the 30-year-old reflected on his time with the 12-time CAF Champions League winners, and explained the role he felt the former Mamelodi Sundowns head coach played in his unsuccessful stint at the club.

During the forward's two years with the Red Devils, he managed to make just 40 appearances, and contributed with just four goals and three assists before his departure, a decision he went on to explain.
"I chose to leave Al Ahly because of my desire to participate in the matches, and I did not want to cause a problem because of Mosimane, and I sat on the bench for a year and a half and asked to leave with respect," Hassan added.
This season, the forward has made 20 league appearances, amassing seven goals and one assist, which have contributed to his side lying in sixth place on the table. They are currently four points away from second-placed Al Masry with a game in hand.
The player added, though, that he has not ruled out a return to Ahly, nor will he reject the opportunity to play for another top side in the country.
"I would welcome playing for Zamalek if I receive an official offer, even if I have to return to Al Ahly," Hassan continued.
"I love Al Ahly fans very much, and their support for their players is enough for me."
