The Confederation of African Football (CAF) has confirmed that Saudi Arabia will host an esteemed African clash taking place shortly.
African football's governing body has announced that the TotalEnergies CAF Super Cup 2023 will be contested at the King Fahd Stadium, which is the home ground for both the Saudi Arabia national team and Saudi Pro League champions Al Hilal, in the city of Taif on 15 September.

Egyptian giants Al Ahly are set to take on Algeria's USM Alger in the prestigious encounter that pits the previous campaign's CAF Champions League winners against the victors of the CAF Confederation Cup.
CAF general secretary Veron Mosengo-Omba has expressed his excitement at the prospect of taking the tournament to a new region.
"We are excited to take the TotalEnergies CAF Super Cup to a new territory in Saudi Arabia – a country that has been making significant strides in global football," he said, per CAF's official website.
"African football ranks amongst the best in the world right now, and it's fitting that, in an era where many international stars are heading to Saudi Arabia, African football is also a part of this movement."

Saudi Arabian Football Federation (SAFF) general secretary Ibrahim Alkassim has described this as a milestone event for the two organisations.
"Our collaboration with CAF to host this event exemplifies our commitment to partnering with CAF in event hosting and match organisation in line with our existing partnership," he said.
"This event marks yet another milestone in our ongoing collaboration."
CAF and SAFF signed a five-year Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) earlier this year, the aim of which is said to be to host competitions and nurture growth opportunities for both African and Saudi football.
