The result saw Wydad drop vital points, leaving them in fourth place with 24 points after 15 games—level with AS FAR, a point behind their most recent opponents in second, and nine points adrift of league leaders RSB Berkane.
Despite Wydad's improved form under Mokwena, who remains undefeated in his first four matches in charge, Zemamra's tactical masterclass proved enough to keep the visitors at bay.
Speaking after the match, Zemamra coach Mohamed Amine Benhachem shared insights into the bold strategy he used to frustrate one of the league's most dangerous sides.
"I was well aware of the difficulty of facing Wydad," the manager said in a post-match statement per Le360 Sport.
"They have regained their strength in recent matches and have achieved positive results. This prompted us to rely on a special plan to limit the danger of their players."
Benhachem revealed his approach, which focused on man-marking Wydad's key threats throughout the game.
"I decided to rely on close monitoring of each player over time. I assigned each of my players to mark a specific Wydad player and track all of their movements," he explained.
Acknowledging the risks involved, the tactician added, "The plan we adopted was dangerous for us, but it worked. We succeeded in limiting the effectiveness of Wydad's players.
"Our team gave a great physical performance, and I think the draw was fair to both sides."
