Tau an outlier as Al Ahly 'make' big transfer decision

Percy Tau is reportedly an exception as Al Ahly make a big transfer decision.

The Egyptian giants have taken a bold stance on transfers, shutting down potential moves in January for their players amidst significant interest from other clubs, according to Youm7.

Players such as Wessam Abou Ali, Ahmed Nabil Koka and Marwan Attia have reportedly attracted offers exceeding $1 million (around R18 million).

However, the Club of the Century's management are believed to have opted to postpone discussions until the transfer window at the end of the current campaign.

The side's decision come after they are said to have prioritised defending their CAF Champions League title, domestic competitions and their participation in the new-look 2025 FIFA Club World Cup.

Although, the Red Devils are claimed to have made an exception when it comes to the future of their South African star.

Al Ahly are suggested to be open to allow the former Brighton Hove Albion star, who has recently been linked with a move to rivals Zamalek, to depart in the club in January.

The 30-year-old's contract is set to expire at the end of the season and despite sporting director Mohamed Ramadan stating last month that the club would discuss a renewal with the player, uncertainty still surrounds the player's future.

Tau found himself benched for Al Ahly's opening two Egyptian Premier League matches, appearing only as a substitute. His inconsistent participation has sparked speculation about his future.
