Rulani's Wydad 'slapped' with another ban by FIFA

Rulani Mokwena's Wydad Athletic Club have reportedly been hit with another transfer ban by FIFA.

The body of world football's disciplinary committee have prevented the Red Castle from registering any new players in the January transfer window and possibly beyond it, according to Moroccan newspaper Hesport per Tunisie Numerique

This comes after the Botola Pro 1 outfit were previously banned for a breach of contract with three former players.

That ban, however, was lifted earlier this year after president Hicham Ait Menna worked hard behind the scenes to eventually gain the financial stability to help the side pay off their debts.

The three-time CAF Champions League winners were then able to register all the players they managed to bring in ahead of the current campaign.

Now, the club appears to have been pushed back to square one, with it claimed the Red Castle's latest ban comes as a result of their failure to pay Tanzanian player Simon Msuva.

The Tanzanian joined the Moroccan side in 2020, but departed in July 2022 to join Saudi Arabian outfit Al Qadsiah on a free transfer.

It has further been reported that FIFA sent the club a letter, in which it was confirmed that the ban will remain in effect until they are able to settle their outstanding financial dues.

The side have also not been experiencing the best of times on the pitch, with Mokwena's men in sixth position on the league table after winning just four of the 10 matches they have played so far this season.
