Fadlu's Simba praised amid Moroccan job links

Ahead of a crucial encounter in Tanzania, Fadlu Davids' Simba SC side has received praised amid the South African's links to a job at a Moroccan giant. 

Simba SC are gearing up for a highly anticipated Mainland Premier League clash against Fountain Gate FC at the Tanzanite Stadium in Manyara today.

The second-placed side, who are two points behind Young Africans SC, will be aiming to regain their position at the top, but their opponents are confident of providing a stern challenge.

Fountain Gate head coach Robert Matano acknowledged Simba's quality but backed his side to put up a strong fight. 

"Simba are among the best teams in the league, but so are we. We have prepared thoroughly and we will put on a dominant display against them," Matano said per Daily News.

"I urge all Fountain Gate supporters to come out in full force and back us against the Reds. With their support, we believe we can secure a vital victory," he added. 

Yanga took the top spot after they beat KenGold FC by six goals to one on Wednesday.  

Davids' side will be looking to get their hands on all three points to reclaim their position as league-leaders in what is ramping up to be a closely-fought title race.  

Meanwhile, speculation over Davids' future continues to grow, with reports linking him to a managerial role at Moroccan club AS FAR Rabat.

The North African outfit recently parted ways with French coach Hubert Velud after an inconsistent run of results, leaving the position open.

Assistant coach Jamil Benouahi has been placed in temporary charge while the club searches for a permanent replacement.

According to Moroccan reports, Davids is one of the leading candidates for the job, with his experience at Orlando Pirates and Raja Club Athletic understood to make him a strong contender to take the reins at AS FAR.
