Mane linked with surprise Premier League return

Bayern Munich star Sadio Mane has been linked with a swift return to the Premier League, but it's not with Liverpool.

Reports surfaced that Mane's future at Bayern is in doubt after his alleged bust-up with Leroy Sane, which led to a one-game ban from the club.

While Liverpool have no desire to re-sign the Senegal international, Football insider have reported that Chelsea are now eyeing a move for the forward for next season.

The Blues are said to be keen on searching for a new forward but need to be careful with their spending in order to comply with Financial Fair Play regulations.

The report added that the Blues have a difficulty in finding a marquee striker at the right age, which eventually led to the signing of Pierre-Emerick Aubemayeng, who has already been linked with an exit.

It is believed that the 31-year-old is on Chelsea's radar ahead of next season, with Bundesliga giants are now reportedly prepared to listen to offers for the forward.

Mane has registered 12 goals and four assists in 34 appearances across all competitions this season for the Bavarians.

Meanwhile, Bayern Hasan Salihamidzic has admitted that not signing a direct replacement for Robert Lewandowski was a mistake, but still feels Mane can contribute.

"With Sadio Mane we have signed a new player who can also play as the No.9," he told reporters via Sport 1.

"In retrospect, of course, you can be the clever one and say: That's not the case. Serge, King, Leroy, Sadio, Tel, Choupo, Thomas, Jamal – they are all top players."
