Arteta: I will kill my players if...

Ahead of Arsenal's all-important clash against Manchester City on Wednesday night, Mikel Arteta has stated he would "kill his players" if they show a certain kind of behaviour in the tie.

The Gunners have surprised many in leading the Premier League title race for the majority of the season following their fifth-place finish in the previous campaign.

However, the London club has dropped six points in their past three matches, putting them in a position where their upcoming clash at the Etihad Stadium could have a big say in the title race.

If City win that match, they would be just two points behind Arteta's men with two games in hand, while an Arsenal victory would put the Gunners eight points ahead.

In a pre-match press conference ahead of the much-anticipated tie, Arteta was asked if any of his players will be intimidated by the big occasion.

"No. And if they do, I will just say: 'I will kill them'. And I don't want that at all," the Spanish manager said, per Goal.

"Yeah, it's going to be a tough night and challenge, but the opportunity is incredible for us.

"We knew from the beginning, if you want to win a Premier League, you have to go to Spurs and beat them.

"You have to go to Chelsea and you have to beat them. You have to go away from home and win.

"This is what we've been doing. This is why we're here.
