The Algerian winger has penned a four-year deal with Al Ahli, with the side having paid a reported €35 million (R701 million) transfer fee, plus add-ons, for his services.
The 32-year-old departs the Etihad having enjoyed a glittering half-decade with the Citizens, winning 13 trophies with the club, including five Premier League titles.
It is understood that manager Pep Guardiola was initially not keen to see the African superstar leave, but has now given the move his blessing, with reports suggesting that City are in the market for a new winger – FC Barcelona's Raphinha has already been linked.
