The Blues have allowed the player to leave for free, with his contract having been terminated by mutual consent even though there was still one year remaining on his deal at Stamford Bridge.
Aubameyang leaves the Blues having scored just three times in 22 appearances, marking his lowest goal return since the 2009/10 season.
Reports suggest that he also had lurative offers from teams in Saudi Arabia on the table, but he has now chosen to take his career back to the country of his birth.
