Chelsea make U-turn on Lukaku future?

Chelsea manager Graham Potter has reportedly made a decision on Romelu Lukaku's future at the club following his return to Italy on loan.

After a disappointing 2021/22 campaign with the Blues, the Belgian striker returned to Serie A outfit Inter Milan on loan for this campaign.

The Blues effectively replaced Lukaku with Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang on the final day of the transfer window, making the Belgian's future even more uncertain.

ESPN have now reported that Potter is open to offering the Serie A winner a second chance when he returns to the club at the end of his loan spell.

The report claims the new Chelsea tactician is set to hold talks with the club's record signing at the end of the campaign.

However, it remains to be seen if Lukaku would want a return, although Inter do not have the option to make the move permanent from next season.

Upon returning to the San Siro, the 29-year-old revealed he had kept his home in Italy despite securing a big-money return to Stamford Bridge.

"My family and I were so happy here thanks to the people, the fans and my teammates," Lukaku said, as per The Sun.

"From the first day I arrived here, everyone helped me settle in. I'm very happy.

"I kept my home here when I went to England, so that means something.

"I'm pleased to be back and now I can't wait to get out there with my teammates."
