Sterling to make shock move to EPL rivals?

Reports suggest that Chelsea star Raheem Sterling could make a shock move to one of his side's biggest Premier League rivals just six months after joining the Blues from Manchester City.

The 28-year-old arrived at Stamford Bridge at the beginning of the current campaign following a glittering seven seasons with the Citizens.

Chelsea splashed €56.2 million (R1 billion) to sign the England international and tied him down to a lucrative five-year deal with reported wages of £325 000 (R6.9 million) a week, making him the highest-paid player in the team, according to Spotrac.

However, the pacey attacker is yet to live up to expectations in in west London, having scored just six times in his 22 appearances across all competitions for the club so far.

A report by Spanish outlet Fichajes now claims that the recent big-money arrival of Mykhaylo Mudryk at Chelsea raises doubts about Sterling's future, with the Blues believed to be ready to try to recoup the money they spent on the Three Lions star at the beginning of the campaign.

It is further stated that EPL leaders Arsenal, who are still in the market for a winger after losing out on Mudryk to their city rivals, have emerged as potential suitors for the Jamaica-born footballer, with manager Mikel Arteta said to have once again placed him on his wish list after missing out on him in the previous transfer window.
