With Chelsea's on-field blues, the big-spending club is now reportedly looking at the possibility of shaking up their transfer policy in the windows ahead, with a big change on the cards.
The west London giants have spent more than £1 billion (R23 billion) on young, promising starlets since the Todd Boehly-led takeover in May 2022, but that appears to be a strategy that has not worked out for them just yet.

After a forgettable 2022/23 campaign that saw the Blues finish in 12th position, and a frustrating start to the new season, the club has reportedly held talks behind the scenes about changing its policy of not signing players over the age of 25.
The London side spent about £200 million (R4,1 billion) on the likes of Moises Caicedo, Romeo Lavia, Nicolas Jackson and Cole Palmer, who are all under 23 years old, in the latest transfer windows.
Due to this approach, however, Chelsea turned down the opportunity to sign now-Tottenham Hotspur star James Maddison, according to the Daily Express, with the former Leicester City playmaker having shone in the opening matches of the campaign for his new club.
A final decision has not yet been made, but it is believed Chelsea's hierarchy have scheduled more meetings over the next few weeks to discuss what exactly Pochettino needs, while senior figures are reportedly pushing for the signings of more experienced players to balance out the youth in the squad.
