Mourinho to make sensational EPL return?

A sensational return to the Premier League with one of England's biggest clubs could now be on the cards for Jose Mourinho. 

The Portuguese tactician's contract with AS Roma is set to expire at the end of the season, and a host of clubs are said to be interested in his services, with it believed he has decided not to extend his stay with the Giallorossi.

The "Special One" has been linked with a move to former club Real Madrid, with Carlo Ancelotti expected depart the Santiago Bernabeu at the end of the campaign, as well as with a big-money move to Saudi Arabia.

Reports suggest that an unnamed team from the Middle East nation has offered Mourinho a two-year contract worth a staggering £104 million (R2.3 billion). 

Speculation has it that the former Manchester United manager is in the frame for the England national team job too, with the FA reported to be excited at the prospect of landing the coach who had previously rejected them in 2007. 

Now, however, according to RomaPress, Saudi-owned Newcastle United have entered the fold.

Italian journalist Augusto Ciardi has reported that the Portuguese has been added to the Magpies' list of possible replacements for Eddie Howe. 

It is also claimed the English manager could choose to part ways with the Geordies at the end of the current campaign. 

Meanwhile, Mourinho's last stint in the Premier League came when he was in charge of London club Tottenham Hotspur.

He managed the Lilywhites from November 2019 to April 2021, departing the side with 27 wins, 14 draws and 17 defeats in 58 Premier League games.
