OFFICIAL: Brazil star's exit from Liverpool confirmed

One of Liverpool's Brazilian stars has now officially departed the club for a big-money move to Saudi Arabia.

Holding midfielder Fabinho has left Anfield and completed a highly lucrative move to Saudi Pro League side Al Ittihad.

The 29-year-old has signed a three-year deal with the Saudi champions, with the Reds reaching an agreement on a £40 million (R911 million) transfer fee for the Brazil international.

After arriving on Merseyside in 2018, the Campinas native played an integral role in helping Jurgen Klopp's side end a 30-year wait for the Premier League title, and also helped the team lift the 2018/19 UEFA Champions League title.

The 29-cap Selecao star won every club title available with the English giants, but now makes the move to the Gulf state following an injury-plagued 2022/23 campaign.

He is not be the first high-profile Liverpool player to make the move to the Middle East this off-season, with former club captain Jordan Henderson recently completing a transfer to Al Ettifaq.

Fabinho will now join forces with the French duo of N'Golo Kante and Karim Benzema, and play under former Wolverhampton Wanderers and Tottenham Hotspur manager Nuno Espirito Santos, at Ittihad.
