PSG unexpectedly 'agree terms' to sign African star

With the January transfer window set to shut close in the early hours of Wednesday morning, one of Chelsea's African stars is said to have agreed to join Paris Saint-Germain ahead of the deadline.

Having made more than a handful of signings already this month, including Joao Felix and Mykhailo Mudryk, the Blues are expected to allow some of their players to leave before the window closes, given their bloated squad.

At least three stars have been linked with an exit in the last few days, including Italy international Jorginho, England midfielder Conor Gallagher, and Morocco winger Hakim Ziyech.

Both Jorginho and Gallagher have been linked with moves to other Premier League clubs, with the former most notably rumoured with a switch to London rivals Arsenal.

Ziyech, though, now looks to be headed out of England, with the Metro claiming that the winger has agreed terms to join French giants PSG ahead of the deadline.

The two clubs are now believed to be in advanced talks to get the deal over the line, with both parties said to be optimistic about a loan deal including an option to buy at the end of the season.

The 29-year-old has struggled to find his feet at Stamford Bridge, having endured an underwhelming three seasons since making the £33 million (R709 million) move from Ajax Amsterdam in 2020.
