A popular Liverpool star could soon be set for a shock exit, with the club said to be considering his sale.
The Reds' midfield came under heavy scrutiny last season as a series of injuries and poor form saw many of their playmakers endure a largely underwhelming 2022/23 campaign that saw them finish fifth on the Premier League table.

As such, it is one of the key areas the Merseyside club is looking to address in this transfer window, and they have already begun doing so with the confirmed midfield arrivals of Alexis Mac Allister from Brighton Hove Albion and Dominik Szoboszlai from RB Leipzig.
However, those two arrivals now look to have created uncertainty around veterans star Thiago Alcantara's future at Anfield, especially with more incomings expected.
According to Liverpool-based journalist Neil Jones, the Premier League giants are now considering the possibility of selling the 32-year-old, who missed a staggering 22 games through injury last season.
"No offers received at this stage, but Liverpool could soon find themselves with a decision to make over Thiago Alcantara, with Fenerbahce among the clubs keen on signing the midfielder," Jones wrote on Covering Liverpool.
Mac Allister, who recently won the 2022 FIFA World Cup, and Szoboszlai is expected to rival Thiago for minutes if the Spaniard stays on for the final year of his deal, while Curtis Jones showed positive signs towards the end of last season as he started Liverpool's last 11 Premier League games of the campaign.
It is also believed that, along with Turkish giants Fenerbahce, a number of Saudi Arabian teams are keen on snapping Thiago up too.

It is unclear whether or not the former FC Barcelona and Bayern Munich midfielder would consider a departure in this window, but Liverpool continue to be linked with the likes of Romeo Lavia and Khephren Thuram, who both predominantly play in a similar role in the middle of the park.
