Man Utd outclassed by Brighton at Old Trafford

West Ham United 1-3 Manchester City

Manchester City maintained their perfect start to the season and returned to the top of the table after a 3-1 win over West Ham United at London Stadium.

Man City had two changes from their win over Fulham, as Josko Gvardiol and Bernardo Silva came in for Nathan Ake and the injured Mateo Kovacic.

Pep Guardiola's charges were punished for not taking their chances nine minutes before the break as James Ward-Prowse headed home Vladimir Coufal's cross at the back post.

Jeremy Doku eventually levelled matters for City barely a minute from the interval with a strike after cutting in the box.

Silva gave Guardiola's men the lead in the last 16 minutes with a chip over Areola, before Haaland secured all the points for Citu four minutes before time with a well drilled shot in the box after he was setup by Silva.

Manchester United 1-3 Brighton and Hove Albion

Manchester United lost their third game of the season after a 3-1 defeat to Brighton and Hove Albion at Old Trafford.

Man United made three changes from the defeat against Arsenal, as they recalled Scott McTominay, Rasmus Hojlund got his first start alongside Marcus Rashford up top while Sergio Reguilon was handed his debut.

Brighton went ahead on 20 minutes after Danny Welbeck converted Simon Adingra's cross from close-range against his former side.

Hojlund thought he had found the equaliser for United five minutes before the interval after turned home a cross by Rashford but the goal disallowed by the Video Assistant Referee (VAR) after the England striker carried the ball over the byline before making a cross.

Pascal Gross doubled the lead for Roberto De Zerbi's charges eight minutes after the break with a close-range finish against the run of play.

The Seagulls went 3-0 up in the last 19 minutes after Joao Pedro put away a pass by Tariq Lamptey in the box.

Hannibal Mejbri gave United hope of a comeback after he pulled a goal back two minutes later with a great strike from the edge of the box but the Red Devils just could not recover, as they slipped to their third loss of the season.

Tottenham Hotspur 2-1 Sheffield United

Tottenham Hotspur came from behind to beat Sheffield United 2-1 with stoppage time goals and remained within two points of leaders Manchester City at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.

After a scoreless first half, Gustavo Hamer eventually broke the deadlock for Sheffield 20 minutes before time with a strike in the box from a throw in.

Ange Postecoglou's charges put on a late show as Richarlison equalised deep in stoppage time with a header from a corner.

Dejan Kulusevski snatched the winner for Spurs in the tail end of a long stoppage time with a strike into the top corner.

The Blades finished the game with ten men after Oliver McBurnie got a second booking and was sent off.

Aston Villa 3-1 Crystal Palace

Aston Villa returned to winning ways after a come-from-behind 3-1 win over Crystal Palace at Villa Park.

Moussa Diaby found the back of the net for Villa ten minutes before the break but his goal was chalked off by the Video Assistant Referee (VAR) for a fractional offside.

Odsonne Edouard eventually broke the deadlock for Palace three minutes into the second stanza.

Jhon Duran levelled matters for Villa two minutes before time and Douglas Luiz gave them the lead from the penalty spot late in stoppage time.

Leon Bailey sealed all the three points for the hosts with their third goal in the tail end of long added time.

Fulham 1-0 Luton Town

Fulham won their second game of the season after a narrow 1-0 win over Luton Town at Craven Cottage.

Jacob Brown came close to breaking the deadlock for Luton just before the half-hour mark with a header that came off the post.

Carlos Vinicius eventually got the breakthrough for the Cottagers on 65 minutes and that was enough to hand them their second victory of the campaign.
