Manchester United got their first away victory in the Premier League after defeating Burnley 1-0 on Saturday evening.
United manager Erik Ten Hag gave Jonny Evans his first start of the season along with Hannibal Mjebri, as the Clarets preferred Aaron Ramsey ahead of the suspended South African Lyle Foster.
Burnley were denied the early breakthrough when Andre Onana pulled to the near post and turned Mohamed Zeki Amdouni's pin-point header behind for a corner-kick.
The Swiss international was in again inside the midway point of the first half as Ramsey thread him in-behind to go clear and struck the foot of the post – having beaten the offside trap.
It became tense for the Clarets minutes apart and saw manager Vincent Kompany bring on Tresor Ndayishimiye ahead of the injured Johann Gudmundsson.
Burnley looked to have gone behind when Evans headed in from a corner-kick on 25 minutes, but it went for a pitch-side review and was called back following an infringement.
The Red Devils pulled the first blow two minutes before halftime as an exquisite long pass from Evans picked out captain Bruno Fernandes, who volleyed from a tight angle.
In the second half, the visitors were keen to get a second through balls in the area by Diogo Dalot and Marcus Rashford but the deliveries didn't reach the desired effect.
United continued to bombard the host down the wide channels and had a low weighted cross in by Dalot narrowly miss the outstretched boot of Rasmus Hojlund.
With time running out, the Clarets piled numbers forward and nearly got their reward when Sander Burger nodded over before Fernandes attempted an overhead kick at the other end.
In the end, the Red Devils had done enough to record the win and snap a run of three straight defeats in all competitions.
