Spurs rally back to hold Man Utd in 4-goal thriller

Tottenham Hotspur rallied back from two goals down to draw 2-2 with Manchester United as the race for top four in the Premier League continued.

The host were without Hugo Lloris through injury and made three changes from 6-1 thumping by Newcastle United in Richarlison, Clement Lenglet and Fraser Foster, while Jadon Sancho coming in for Anthony Martial was United's only change.

United took just seven minutes to go in front when Sancho pulled to the right of the area and cut inside to curl in the bottom-corner from the tightest of angles.

Sancho could've grabbed a brace around 20 minutes with a snap shot in the area from a loose ball as the host battled to clear, but Ivan Perisic smothered off the line.

The latter then went close to drawing level through a glancing header ten minutes afterwards, but goalkeeper David De Gea palmed tremendously.

Spurs remained stretched seconds to halftime and conceded again where a switch of play by Bruno Fernandes allowed Marcus Rashford to make a decoy run and slam beyond a charging Foster.

Interim Spurs boss Ryan Mason fired up the host after halftime and nearly pulled one back as a header by Lenglet rattled the upright following a scramble.

The encouraged momentum paid off ten minutes from the resumption when Pedro Porro found the back of the net with a smashing volley from the edge of the area.

United didn't drop their heads two minutes later and very nearly restored their two-goal advantage through a low effort from close-range by Fernandes, but he hit the crossbar.

The visiting team refreshed their side midway through the second half which saw Anthony Martial come on for Sancho before Christian Eriksen made way for Fred.

Spurs continued to increase the intensity in their play amidst a few near missed, levelled in the last ten minutes when Heung-Min Son pounced on Harry Kane's low cross to slot in.

With the tempo of the match evenly balanced ahead of full-time, the two teams settled for a draw which keep their top-four ambitions alive.
