Arsenal made it back-to-back victories in the Premier League with a 5-2 thrashing of West Ham United at the London Stadium on Saturday night.
The Gunners made two changes from the big win over Sporting Lisbon on Tuesday, as Thomas Partey and Gabriel Martinelli dropped out as Jorginho and Leandro Trossard were recalled by Mikel Arteta.
The away side only needed ten minutes to get the breakthrough as they continued with their set-piece dominance when Gabriel got on the end of Bukayo Saka's corner to head home his fourth goal of the campaign.
Just minutes after West Ham had a goal disallowed, the Gunners went on to double their lead in the 26th minute when some neat play ended with Trossard turning home Saka's cross.
It got better for the Gunners on 34 minutes after they awarded a penalty for Lucas Paqueta's foul on Saka in the box, which allowed club captain Martin Odegaard to step up and convert from 12 yards out.
What followed in the next ten was pure chaos after Kai Havertz extend the Gunners' advantage in the 36th minute after latching onto Trossard's long pass and slotting past Lukasz Fabianski.
While some of the home fans left early, the Hammers gave themselves some through Aaron Wan-Bissaka's second goal in as many games while Emerson reduced the deficit to just two goals by curling home a neat free-kick from 20 yards out.
However, the Gunners silenced any hopes of a comeback five minutes into time added on when Saka converted the team's second penalty after Gabriel had been fouled by Fabianksi, who was trying to clear from a corner.
The Hammers were a lot more solid coming out for the second period as they went in search of more goals, but the visitors were quite content to sit back and allow their opponents time without creating much.
Even with the introduction of Danny Ings, the hosts still found it tough to carve out any chances in the Gunners saw out the rest of clash with relative ease to claim maximum points and move into second spot.
