Official: Liverpool clinch second EPL title

Liverpool have secured their second Premier League title with a 5-1 thrashing of Tottenham Hotspur on Sunday evening.

The hosts got off to the worst possible start when Spurs took the lead in the 11th minute courtesy of a towering header from former Reds striker Dominic Solanke.

Six minutes later, Arne Slot's men were back on level terms when Dominik Szoboszlai raced into the box before picking out Luis Diaz, who slotted into an empty net.

The home side then took the lead in the 25th minute in fine style through Alexis Mac Allister, who found the top corner with a powerful left-footed strike on the edge of the box.

Liverpool took control of the tie and bagged a third goal on 34 minutes courtesy of a lovely finish from Cody Gakpo, who moved on to eight league goals.

Slot's charges were able to bag a fourth goal in the 65th minute as Salah cut in from the right and fired one into the bottom corner for his 28th league goal.

The Reds rounded off the scoring with 20 minutes left on the clock as Spurs defender Destiny Udogie diverted a cross from Trent Alexander-Arnold into his own net.

Manchester United snatched a last-gasp 1-1 draw against Bournemouth in the Premier League on Sunday afternoon.

Five changes from United saw Harry Maguire, Leny Yoro, Luke Shaw, Casemiro and Bruno Fernandes return from the eleven that started loss against Wolverhampton Wanderers.

Alejandro Garnacho looked to spring the visitors to life with a surging effort from a darting run around the area, but Kepa Arrizabalaga smothered.

The hosts took the lead at the midway stage of the first half as Antoine Semenyo slammed home a left-fotoed striker after being teed up by Evanilson.

The Red Devils didn’t lose momentum though and nearly got on level terms through a toe-poke attempt by Garnacho following Noussair Mazraoui’s delivery, but Kepa parried.

Bournemouth still continued enjoying the lion share of chances after the halftime break, as a surging free-kick from Dango Ouattara crashed off the crossbar and deflected into touch.

The Red Devils looked to get back in rhythm and presented a triple substitution midway in the second half in Manuel Ugarte, Mason Mount and Victor Lindelof.

Bournemouth were reduced to ten men inside the closing 20 minutes as Evanilson got his marching orders on recommendation from the Video Assistant Referee (VAR) for a poor foul.

The Red Devils made use of their numerical advantage and levelled matters in added time when Rasmus Hojlund tapped in a loose ball from Ugarte.
