Salah's home 'ransacked' after penalty miss

One of Mohamed Salah's homes was reportedly raided by burglars just a day after his penalty miss in Liverpool's defeat to Bournemouth. 

The Egyptian's weekend went from bad to worse after a villa he owns in Cairo was burgled a day after he missed a penalty in his team's loss on Saturday, according to the Daily Star

Salah's nephew reportedly returned to the villa to find it had been ransacked by burglars as his suspicions were raised when he noticed a window had been left open. Police came quickly after being notified and found the home in a state.

It is said that the place was turned upside down by the robbers, with many items being stolen by the criminals. 

It remains unconfirmed what specific items were stolen by the burglars. 

Egyptian outlet Al-Ahram report that electrical devices were among the items to have been desired by the thieves. 

"The surrounding surveillance cameras are being unloaded, and the security personnel in charge of securing the place are being interrogated," a source told the African publication, per the Daily Express.

"The security services are intensifying their efforts to solve the mystery of the incident, and the necessary legal measures have been taken."

Fortunately, it appears that nobody was in the house when the crime took place.
